Dual Weekend Events with Sister Series, Central Oregon, at Bachelor

This weekend we have some exciting events planned at Mt. Bachelor with our sister series, Central Oregon.  This Saturday is HALFPIPE and Sunday is SLOPESTYLE.  Mt. Hood and Central Oregon will both be running events simultaneously on the same venue. This means all competitors will be able to compete in two separate events on the same day and get both in-series and out-of series points.  We will run the events in heats with two panels of judges. The heats age groups will not overlap so there will be no conflict between the events. For example, in pipe each series will have two heats. Heat 1 will be breaker and under; Heat 2 will be Youth and up. Central Oregon will run heat 1 first and Mt. Hood will run heat 2 first. Then the heats will switch. This will permit competitors who sign up for both events to do four runs in a row and get scored for two seperate competitons/series.  So take advantage for this opportunity and sign up for both Mt. Hood and Central Oregon slope and pipe this weekend!

PLEASE register ahead of time online to save money and time and make things easier for your series directors and volunteers! Thank you!!! Hope to see you all there!

MLK Weekend

Winter in finally here. Lots of snow in the forecast! The Mt Hood Series is having its first big weekend of events over MLK weekend. 2 SBX/SX events on Saturday at Meadows, 2 Rail Jams on Sunday at Meadows and 1 Slope on Monday at Timberline.  We will need volunteers to help over the weekend, so if you are interested in volunteering, please send me an email.  Schedule will be the same all three days. 8-9:30 registration; Practice from 9:30 to 10:45. Rider's meeting at 10:45; First drop at 11:00 am. Awards after the competition. Please register online ahead of the events. This is particularity important for SBX/SX. We will not be doing time trials, but rather building brackets in advance based on ranking. This will allow us to get immediately into bracketed racing. So please register on line!!! See you next weekend.

Mt. Hood Series Kickoff Informational Meeting and Dry Slope Rail Jam

The Mt. Hood Series will kickoff its season on December 1, 2019 with dry slope rail jam, campus visit and informational meeting at Windells. This is a great opportunity for all to check out the Windells/High Cascade campus and participate in the first rail jam of the season.Registration for the event will be from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Rail jam will run from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The rail jam will be on the Windells dry slope. We will run the event in heats and swap out features so we can accommodate all levels of ability.  In addition, campus will be open for tramping and skating that day so USASA members can check out what Windells and High Cascade have to offer.

After the rail jam we will have an informational meeting for parents, coaches, volunteers and athletes.  We are adding some dual events with the Central Oregon Series, which will provide a fun opportunity for Hoodies to travel to Mt. Bachelor to compete with Central Oregon athlete and still get points for the Hood Series. More on this at the meeting.

We are looking forward to another awesome season on Hood.  See you on December 1st for the season opener.
